If civilization is diamond, culture is it’s glow. Library shows the culture of the university.. The University is rich only when its library collection is rich. It reflects the culture of the university and acts as a nerve centre and the knowledge store.

Quality of education largely depends upon the collection of the books and other material in the Library. The University Library is a specialized technical library. It started in the year 2004 and within a short span of time the library has nearly 25000 books, more than 300 CD-ROM titles. Library is also subscribing to 87 National and International journals & Periodicals. It has also access to various online databases and electronic journals. SMVDU Library is also the member of INDEST Consortium and has access to Springer Link, IEL Online, ACM, ABI Inform Complete & Math Sci Net. Collection is fully indexed and its catalogue can be accessed throughout the campus [OPAC (Online Public Access Catalogue) through INTRANET] and on Internet (WebOPAC).

Recently, British Council has established it’s second centre in India at the university level for Education at UK Centre in the Central Library to facilitate providing information about exchange programs..The subject coverage is Management, Engineering, Sciences, Philosophy, Culture, English Language, French Language and World Literature. The whole library collection is fully indexed and the catalogue is fully computerized. The library also provides Current Awareness Service (CAS) and Selective Dissemination of Information (SDI) services. Apart from the Central Library there are four College Libraries. All these libraries are managed by a team of highly skilled modern young professionals.

The central library works from 9.30 a.m. to 5.30 p.m. whereas the reference libraries are open up to 10 p.m. Book bank facility is also available for the new students. The Central Library is built on 36000 Square yds area and is being equipped with more books, journals and modern facilities through the UGC grant.
