Prof. Ravinder Bhan, an eminent Landscape Architect of great repute, presented a series of lectures to the students of B.Arch program at the University Campus from 15th -17th Nov 2010. The students and faculty members of the School of Architecture & Landscape Design listened in rapt attention as Prof. Bhan highlighted the importance of Landscape Architecture in Architecture & Environment in today’s fast changing and complex world.
During his lectures and presentation, a number of projects were shown to students with related explanations. Students had a very good interaction and discussed their class/studios projects with him and received suggestions of immense importance. His thrust on the Landscape aspects of live projects was full of solutions to bring architectural works in close proximity to nature so that the projects become sustainable and energy efficient. By sheer explanations simple in nature, it was emphasized that Nature has all values and answers hidden in it and exploring and applying the same could help survival on the planet.
Ar. Ravindra Bhan, Landscape Architect and Ecological Planner studied Architecture in London and later in America where he also completed his formal education in Landscape Architecture and Ecological Planning. Prof. Ravindra Bhan has lectured extensively in USA on ecological aspects of planning. He was also awarded the prestigious Agha Khan award for Mughal Sheraton Hotel Project in Agra India for his outstanding contribution to Architecture and Landscape Architecture.
