| Governor Inaugurates First IEEE Conference at SMVDU |

Katra June 03: The three day IEEE International Conference on “Communication Systems and Network Technology” (CSNT-2011) was declared open by His Excellency, Honorable Governor, J&K, Shri. N.N.Vohra, the chief guest for the event, today on 3rd of June,2011 here at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University, Katra. The patron for the event was Prof.R.N.K. Bamezai, honorable vice chancellor ,SMVDU. The keynote speaker of the event was Prof. Snasel Vaclav, a member of IEEE,USA from VSB- Technical university of Ostrava, Czech Republic, the general chair included Prof.G.S.Tomar, Director ,MITS,Gwalior and Prof.Ajith Abraham ,a renowned academician and a senior member of IEEE from Norway. The local chair included Dr.Amit Kant Pandit,the convener of the conference and Dr.Vipan Kakkar, Director of school of ECE,Smvdu. Prof M.L.Garg, Dean, College of Engineering, Smvdu was in the program committee chair.
Prof. Ajith Abraham enlightened the participants and students regarding the significance of communication systems and network technology. He said that it would be a great learning experience for the students. He mentioned that we need more technologies, which can be done by conferences like this organized all over. He also said that for locals it's a golden oppertunity, such events are rare in Jammu & Kashmir After that Prof.G.S. Tomar descried that there are three stages of review, and around 930 papers arrived to the panel initially apart from that he said people from around 27 countries reviewed then papers. He also mentioned that one paper was reviewed by minimum of 3 reviewers and maximum of 10 reviewers which ensures that papers are of very high quality, Prof. Tomar also mentioned that University has beautiful infrastructure and is of international standard, that's why chosen for such a big event, he also spoke about current developments and scope in field of communication systems. After that his excellency governor Jammu & Kashmir Shri N N Vohra Chancellor SMVDU, mentioned that he was happy to be part of the inaugural ceremony of this international communication systems and network technology (CSNT 2011) conference, his emphasis was on the impact of this communication technology on the administration system. He laid stress on the digitalization of the papers work so that mobilizing of people has less effect on work. His excellency also mentioned that a big challenge for developing nations is afford ability of new technologies and if that is not achieved then the research is limited. Finally the vote of thanks was presented by Dr.Amit Kant Pandit . The whole event is being sponsored by Microsoft, IEEE and ministry of defence, DRDO. The conference would include paper presentations from eminent researchers and professors across the country and abroad. The event would be lasting for three days. |
